Escrow & staged payment for gold — explained

Legitimate gold trade never asks for full advance payment. Here is how both sides share risk fairly.

Share

International gold buyers rightly fear sending 100% upfront to an African supplier they have never met. Escrow and staged bank wires exist precisely to solve this — without the fake 'clearance fees' scammers invent.

How staged payment works

A typical structure: deposit on signed contract, balance released against assay documents, export declaration and insured logistics milestones. Terms are agreed in writing before metal moves.

What is never legitimate

Any upfront 'tax', 'customs unlocking', 'insurance activation' or 'refinery fee' before you have verified the seller and seen assay proof — that is advance-fee fraud, not export cost.
