New borehole commissioned near Bertoua
Clean water now reaches a neighbouring village served by the cooperative.
In May 2026 COOP-CA ARTEL №1 commissioned a new borehole near Bertoua, bringing reliable clean water to a neighbouring community that hosts our concessions.
The project is part of our social reinvestment programme: a share of declared gold production returns to the East Region through water, schooling support and local employment.
Why water matters on a mining site
Artisanal mining depends on healthy communities. Safe water reduces disease, keeps workers on site, and builds the trust that lawful, long-term production requires.
